Bloopers' Law
Just came across this in my DeafDigest that I regularly get in my emails weekly. Thought this was interesting enough to share with you all! What do you think of this? heh
A LAW PROHIBITING CAPTIONING BLOOPERS
Is there such a thing as a law that forbids captioning
bloopers?
Perhaps in Australia if one wishes to stretch it and hope
for a favorable interpretation from the judge. The Australian
law tries to ensure that deaf Australians could watch TV
with first class citizenship rights. Pretty much sounds
like our ADA.
One deaf Australian leader said that deaf people are
entitled to proper delivery of messages on the TV screen,
and implied that bloopers are a violation.
Well, bloopers because of human nature is not a violation
of the law.
