Fishes!

This is from a Q & A page in a magzine, PETA, called Ask Carla
(who's w a doc or vet, I forgot which, but more likely a vet, don'tcha think so too?).
anyhoooo.....
Ok here is it..
~Q:
How can you say that fish have feelings? (From-Robert M., San Diego, CA)
~A:
Scientists have proved it, as have my own eyes watching a fish
struggling on a hook or gasping for air. Research has shown that fish
recognize individual "shoalmates," track relationships, cooperate with
others, and have language and long-term memories.
Experts from Edinburgh, Leeds, and St.Andrews universities wrote in
'Fish and Fisheries' that fish are highly intelligent. They reported
that being the most ancient of the major vertebrate groups has given
fish "ample time" to evolve complex, adaptable, and diverse behavior
patterns.
They stated, "[F]ishes can even be favorably compared to non-human
primates."
